A LEADING GLOBAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

This organization is among the largest non-profit organizations in the world with over 65 years presence in Bangladesh. Over the last decade or so, this organisation has been facing increasing competitive pressures in the market – some from traditional competitors, but more recently also from ‘unconventional’ competitors. Furthermore, the changing landscape of non-profits with respect to Bangladesh emerging as a Middle-income Country meant reduced spheres of activities.

pi STRATEGY was invited to help this non-profit answer a few difficult questions about its future: what are the sources and nature of the ‘new’ competitive pressures, how do you defend your position amidst such competitive threats, how do you re-carve a niche in the increasingly complex development sector, and where do we go from here?

pi STRATEGY conducted an extensive assessment, spanning over 60 interviews with subject matter experts, end-beneficiaries, partners, competitors and donors. This was supplemented by global leading practices analyses. The engagement concluded with a very specific set of answers and options to the questions the non-profit sought to address. The findings from the pi STRATEGY insights were presented to a global board and currently being reviewed for action.
